Day 1

Hanoi Vintage Jeep

Arrival; afternoon open-air Vintage Jeep tour (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Train Street). Overnight Hanoi.

Day 2 · L, D

Ha Long Bay Overnight Cruise

Board a luxury junk; Ti Top Island, Sung Sot Cave, sunset on the sundeck, gala dinner. Overnight on the bay.

Day 3 · B, L

Ha Long → Hanoi → fly to HCMC

Sunrise Tai Chi, kayak through Luon Cave, brunch, back to Hanoi and the domestic flight south. Overnight Ho Chi Minh City.

Cu Chi Tunnels (HCMC)

The Cu Chi Tunnels - the wartime underground network of passages, bunkers, workshops, and booby traps; optional tunnel crawl and wartime tapioca tasting. Overnight HCMC.

Day 5

Mekong Delta (My Tho)

Vinh Trang Pagoda, a Mekong motorboat to the Unicorn/Coconut islands, a honeybee farm and coconut-candy workshop, a rowing-sampan through water-coconut canals, orchard fruit, and a village horse-cart/tuk-tuk ride. Overnight HCMC.

HCMC Departure

Free morning (Ben Thanh Market / banh mi) before the airport transfer. Tour ends.

Is 6 days too rushed to see both north and south Vietnam?

It's a fast highlights route - two nights of north (Hanoi plus a Halong overnight cruise), then a domestic flight south for Cu Chi and the Mekong. The contrast between the two halves is the point. If you want to slow down or add central Vietnam, the 10-13 day tours cover more ground.
