Food, handled properly

Halal & vegetarian travel in Vietnam

Vietnamese food is one of the best reasons to visit - and with a little local planning, it works beautifully for halal and vegetarian travellers too. We do that planning before you land, not after.

How we make food work for you

Badges you can trust

Tours with verified halal or vegetarian meal options carry a badge on their page - what you see is what the kitchen actually delivers.

Briefed before day one

Your food requirements are briefed to every guide and restaurant on your route before day one.

City and countryside covered

In big cities we know the halal-certified kitchens; in the countryside we arrange dishes cooked separately and explain exactly what is in them.

Com chay everywhere

Vegetarian food is deeply rooted in Vietnam - Buddhist com chay kitchens exist in almost every town, and we build them into your meals.

Our honest note: Vietnam is not a halal-certified country the way Malaysia is. In remote areas, choices narrow, and we will tell you that straight rather than promise what a village kitchen cannot deliver. What we guarantee: you will never be left staring at a menu you cannot eat from - every meal on your route is planned, briefed and double-checked.

Tours with verified food options

Badges only appear when the kitchen has confirmed it - we never guess. Every other tour can still be adapted; just ask in chat.

Four more Ninh Binh tours also carry the vegetarian badge - find them in the full catalogue.

Food questions we hear a lot

Is halal food easy to find in Vietnam?

In Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and tourist centers, yes - there are halal restaurants and Indian-Muslim kitchens we work with regularly. In smaller towns it takes planning, which is exactly what we do in advance. On our halal-marked tours, every included meal is arranged to be halal.

I am vegetarian but my family is not - is that a problem?

Not at all, and it is one of the most common requests we get. Vietnamese meals are shared-table style, so we simply brief the kitchen to add separate vegetarian dishes alongside the regular spread.

Can you handle Jain or other strict dietary rules?

Tell us the exact rules in chat before we plan the route. We would rather design the trip around kitchens that can genuinely comply than promise first and improvise later.

Tell us your food rules

The more specific you are, the better we plan - halal only, veg with egg, Jain, allergies, all of it.
