Four hours, one vehicle of your pick - Jeep, Vespa, motorbike, or bicycle - and a local guide who knows which alleys are worth the detour. The route strings together Train Street, West Lake, and the Old Quarter, plus Vietnamese coffee and a street-food taste built in. Departs daily: morning 08:00-12:00 or afternoon 13:00-17:00.
Itinerary - Half Day (morning or afternoon)
Stop 1
Pick-up & briefing
Your guide collects you at your Old Quarter hotel, runs through the safety basics, and gets you set on your chosen wheels (helmets provided for Vespa/motorbike).
Stop 2
Ba Dinh Square & the Mausoleum (outside visit)
Photo stop in the capital's ceremonial quarter: Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and the Presidential Palace grounds, seen from outside.
Stop 3
West Lake & Tran Quoc Pagoda
A ride along the shore of the city's biggest lake, pausing at Tran Quoc - a Buddhist pagoda whose history runs back some 1,500 years, the oldest in Hanoi.
Stop 4
Train Street (if open)
Coffee at a café right on the tracks, where the rail corridor squeezes between front doors. Access depends on the rules of the day - if it's shut, the guide swaps in another Old Quarter stop.
Stop 5
Long Bien Bridge & Red River banks (bicycle / motorbike routes)
Cross the century-old, French-built Long Bien Bridge to the quiet farm plots and villages on the far bank of the Red River.
Stop 6
Old Quarter hidden lanes
Into the alleys the tour buses can't reach: wet markets, tube houses, guild streets still selling one trade apiece.
Stop 7
Coffee & street food
Stop 8
Return to hotel
The loop ends back at your hotel or any central point you name.

Good questions about this tour
Is riding a Vespa or motorbike through Hanoi safe?
The guides are experienced local riders, and you get a helmet and raincoat for the Vespa and motorbike options. If you'd rather not be on a motorbike, you can choose the bicycle or Jeep instead - just tell us your preference when booking.
Are we guaranteed to get into Train Street?
Train Street access changes with local regulations, so it's marked 'if open' - if it's closed on your day, your guide swaps in another Old Quarter highlight so you don't miss out.
