Good questions about this tour

Do you climb Fansipan on foot or take the cable car?

You go up by cable car - about 20 minutes and no hard climbing. From the top station there are some steps to the very summit and the Great Amitabha Buddha, but those are optional; the views from the station are already spectacular.

Day 1 and Day 4 are spent in Hanoi - isn't that a waste of a 4-day tour?

Day 1 is an easy arrival day to settle in and eat well, and Day 4 is a relaxed morning before your flight - the two full mountain days (Fansipan and Cat Cat/Muong Hoa views) are the core. If you want to maximise mountain time, we can look at a tighter 3-day Sapa option instead.
