Day 1

Saigon Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam. We meet your family at Tan Son Nhat airport and transfer you to your hotel in District 1, the most walkable and family-friendly part of Ho Chi Minh City. If everyone still has energy, wander the pedestrianised Nguyen Hue Walking Street toward the riverfront and graze on easy street food near Ben Thanh Market; if not, the hotel pool is right there. No schedule tonight - just land softly.

Day 2 · Breakfast

Saigon Evening Vespa Tour

A free day to swim, nap off the jet lag and settle in, because the evening belongs to the city. From the back of a vintage Vespa you cruise past Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office from 1891 and the Reunification Palace, then dive into the backstreet alleys where Saigon really eats after dark. The night winds down at a Vietnamese coffee shop with live folk music before you are dropped back at the hotel.

Day 3 · Breakfast, Lunch

Mekong Delta, Ben Tre to Can Tho

Drive about two hours south into the Mekong Delta and board a boat on the Ham Luong River in Ben Tre, the coconut province. The day is hands-on in the best way: a coconut candy workshop, a bee farm and a mat-weaving house, plus a riverside lunch starring elephant-ear fish and fresh river shrimp. After a cruise through narrow canals and a ride on a xe loi (motorised rickshaw) through a village, continue to Can Tho for the night and an evening stroll along the river promenade.

Day 4 · Breakfast

Cai Rang Floating Market, Fly to Nha Trang

An early wake-up earns the Delta's best show: Cai Rang, the largest floating market in the Mekong, where hundreds of wooden boats trade fruit and produce around sunrise. Back in Can Tho for breakfast, then transfer for your flight to Nha Trang and check in to your beachfront hotel. The rest of the day is pure beach: Tran Phu runs 6km along the seafront with calm water and lifeguards on duty from morning to evening.

Day 5 · Breakfast, Lunch

Nha Trang Island Cruise

A full day on the water in Nha Trang Bay, hopping between three islands. Snorkel over the coral reef at Mun Island, a marine protected area with impressively clear water, cruise past Mot and Tam islands, and enjoy lunch served on board. The afternoon is for swimming at anchor in a sheltered bay before you are back in town by late afternoon.

Day 6 · Breakfast

Nha Trang Free Day

No schedule today, and in Nha Trang that is a gift. Pick your adventure: morning sun on Tran Phu Beach, a full family day at Vinpearl on Hon Tre Island - waterpark, aquarium, rides and a safari zone, reached by a 3.3km cable car over the sea - or the Thap Ba mud baths just north of town, where soaking in warm mineral mud is exactly the kind of strange the kids will retell for years.

Day 7 · Breakfast

Fly to Hoi An

A short travel morning: transfer to Cam Ranh airport, fly about an hour to Da Nang, then drive 30km south to arrive in Hoi An around midday. The Ancient Town is flat, compact and made for wandering, so spend the afternoon along the Thu Bon River promenade and the old inner streets. After dark, join the town's loveliest ritual: floating a paper lantern on the river as the lights dim.

Day 8 · Breakfast

Hoi An Free Day

Hoi An at your family's own pace. Our favorite plan is a morning cooking class at a riverside school - market visit included, with the town's signature cao lau noodles on the menu - or getting muddy with the farmers at Tra Que herb village just outside town. In the afternoon, Cua Dai Beach, 5km east, offers the gentlest surf on the central coast and relaxed family-run beach cafes.

Day 9 · Breakfast

Hue Day Trip via Hai Van Pass

Today you cross the Hai Van Pass, the most dramatic road on the central coast, with huge bay views from the 496m summit and the Lang Co lagoon below. In Hue, explore the UNESCO-listed Imperial City, the walled royal capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, and take a boat ride on the Perfume River. You are back in Hoi An by evening.

Day 10 · Breakfast

Hue Royal Tombs

Head back up to Hue for the royal tomb circuit south of the city, where every emperor built to his own taste. Tu Duc's tomb is a romantic garden estate of lakes, pavilions and frangipani; Minh Mang's is grand and formal on a strict central axis; Khai Dinh's climbs a hillside with an interior covered floor to ceiling in broken-ceramic mosaic. Three tombs, three completely different personalities.

Day 11 · Breakfast

Thien Mu Pagoda, Fly to Hanoi

One final Hue morning at Thien Mu Pagoda, founded in 1601, whose seven-storey tower above the Perfume River is the most photographed landmark in the city. Then transfer to Phu Bai airport for the short flight north to Hanoi, where the evening is free for a first taste of the capital.

Day 12 · Breakfast

Hanoi Free Day

Hanoi at family speed. The Museum of Ethnology is the most kid-friendly museum in town, with full-scale ethnic minority houses in the garden and hands-on traditional games on weekends. Eat your way through the Old Quarter's 36 guild streets - bun cha, cha ca and the original egg coffee - then finish at Hoan Kiem Lake, crossing the red Huc Bridge to Ngoc Son Temple while you tell the kids the legend of the lake's giant turtle and the returned sword.

Day 13 · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Ha Long Bay Overnight Cruise

A limousine transfer of about three hours brings you to Tuan Chau port, where you board your cruise with a welcome drink and lunch on deck as the boat sails into the bay - Ha Long means descending dragon, and nearly 2,000 limestone islands and islets rise from its waters. The afternoon covers a guided walk through a grand stalactite cave and kayaking between the karst passages. Then sunset drinks on the top deck and a seafood dinner prepared on board.

Day 14 · Breakfast, Lunch

Bay Morning, Hanoi Street Food Night

The bay is at its calmest before the day boats arrive, so the morning starts on the water: kayak or take a bamboo rowing boat through the quietest passages, then breakfast on board as the boat cruises back to port. You are in Hanoi by early afternoon with free time in the Old Quarter. At 7 PM comes the send-off: a street food tour by motorbike, with bun cha, egg coffee and a bia hoi at a pavement table.

Day 15 · Breakfast

Hanoi Departure

Your last morning is deliberately unscheduled: one final pho or banh mi, a last slow coffee, a little shopping - Vietnamese coffee, silk and lacquerware all pack well. Then your guide takes you to the airport with plenty of buffer for check-in and immigration and sees your family off properly.
