Day 1
Arrival in Da Nang
Met at Da Nang International Airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day free - a walk along the Han River, or a first plate of central Vietnamese food nearby.

3: Da Nang at leisure
My Khe Beach, used by American soldiers during the war and later named by Forbes among the world's most beautiful, for morning swims. The Marble Mountains - five hills named for metal, wood, water, fire and earth - hide centuries-old Buddhist sanctuaries in their caves. In the evenings the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water at weekends.

5: Da Nang at leisure
The Son Tra Peninsula: Linh Ung Pagoda and the tallest Lady Buddha in Vietnam, believed to protect fishermen at sea, and a nature reserve sheltering the red-shanked douc langur. Cycle through the fishing villages, watch basket-boat fishing, or take a cooking class for mi quang.

8: Da Nang at leisure
Hoi An, a UNESCO site and major trading port between the 15th and 19th centuries, its architecture blending Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese and its streets lantern-lit after dark. Back in Da Nang, the Museum of Cham Sculpture holds over 300 sandstone relics from the Champa Kingdom. Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge if there is time.
