Hoa Lu - Tam Coc (or Trang An) - Mua Cave

#### 07:00-07:50 - Hotel pickup (Hanoi Old Quarter)

#### 09:15 - Rest stop (15-20 min)

#### 10:15 - Hoa Lu ancient capital History under Dinh, Le, Ly Dynasties. Cycling around village option.

#### 12:00 - Buffet lunch at Trang An Eco Restaurant Local: goat meat, spring rolls, fish, chicken, fried rice, vegetable salad. Vegetarian always available.

#### 13:30 - Boat ride (choose 1): - **Option 1 - Tam Coc:** "Halong on land" 1.5h boat through Hang Ca/Hai/Ba caves + paddy fields - **Option 2 - Trang An:** UNESCO 2014, 1.5h tunnel cave system, Kong: Skull Island spot

#### 15:30 - Mua Cave (Dragon Peak) 500 steps to top of Lying Dragon Mountain. Panorama Tam Coc + lotus paddy fields (best summer).

#### 17:00 - Check-in Trang An Eco Holiday Retreat Free time. Pool swim available.

#### 19:00 - Dinner at restaurant + walk around Trang An Overnight at Trang An Eco. **Note:** guide NOT available until next morning.

#### 10:30 - Endangered Primate Rescue Centre Non-profit dedicated to rehabilitation, breeding, research, conservation of endangered primates + their habitat protection.

#### 12:00 - Lunch at restaurant (local food)

#### Afternoon - Cuc Phuong forest trek Short trek into Vietnam's oldest national park. Sightseeing + learn fauna/flora. Visit "Cave of Early Man" before heading back.

#### 16:00 - Limousine bus back to Hanoi

#### 18:30 - Hotel drop-off, end of tour

Cuc Phuong is quite far - is it worth the trip?

It's a longer drive, but Cuc Phuong is Vietnam's very first and oldest national park, and the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre is genuinely one of a kind. If you love nature and wildlife it's well worth it. If you're more after the classic karst-landscape scenery, our Bai Dinh 2-day 1-night or Ninh Binh + Halong combo would be a better match.

Is the Cave of Early Man actually interesting?

It's an archaeological site that's really interesting if you enjoy history and culture - early human remains and tools were found here. If you're purely focused on nature, you can keep the visit brief and spend more time on the park trails.

Will the guide be around in the evening on Day 1?

Your guide wraps up for the day after check-in at the Eco Retreat around 17:00, then rejoins you on the morning of Day 2. The resort has a pool and bar where you can enjoy a relaxed evening at your own pace.
